SIRIUS courses represent a textbook replacement model. They are highly creative, interactive, low-cost courses which can be delivered in all modes--face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and fully online. The courses are designed to improve student retention and performance.

Courses are developed by teams including faculty, instructional designers, multimedia specialists, editors, quality assurance staff, and outside content consultants. All content and pedagogy are developed by the team using the latest technology including SoftChalk’s LessonBuilder. Emphasis is on the development of highly creative, interactive courses making use of the latest research in learning, motivation, and technology. The courses are published and distributed by McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions.

Courses are developed to run on the Blackboard Academic Suite platform. Other versions of the courses are available for use on other systems including Blackboard Campus Edition, Angel, and Moodle. There is no charge to the institution for courses made available in Blackboard Academic Suite; versions in the other learning management systems are provided at SIRIUS cost prices.
